Website Optimization – How to Create an Optimized Website

If one was to ask a programmer or web site developer what website optimization is, their answer will make you think you were chatting to someone that spoke another language. They’re going to talk all about CSS code and java scripts, for example, and how you should not have way too much of this and that in the code, and so on.

All of that’s great; nevertheless there’s far more to enhancing your site than stressing about complex stuff that concern programmers. What I would like to chat to you about are the things which you as a newbie can do to optimize your own website so it can attract your target market and turn them into possible consumers.

Your website must be optimized to do 2 things:

1)      Be found in the search engines  (particularly Google)

2)      Convert visitors into consumers (or at the least get those visitors interested enough in your business to take some kind of action when they come to your website)

When you receive website optimization training, you learn that is all about making your site search engine friendly, and adding elements to your site which will convert visitors into buyers.

There are 2 crucial website optimization terms that you’ve got to know and understand, which are: Search Engine Optimization (also known as SEO) and Conversion Optimization.

Search engine optimization can be further broken down into 2 groups: On Page Optimization and Off Page Optimization.

On Page Optimization is composed of elements that have to be incorporated on your site, (e.g. meta tag optimization, heading tags, keyword heavy pages, xml sitemap, image optimization, internal linking, and more). Off Page Optimization is composed of building links to your website from other sites and web properties. The great majority of those links should come from sites that are related to what your website is about.

Utilizing all of these elements together will help your target audience find your website in the search engines.

What happens to all that traffic after they come to your website? The solution to that relies on if you have optimized your website to increase conversions. That explains why conversion optimization is part of website optimization. In other words, you have to give your website visitors an action to take that will benefit both parties.  For example, have them fill out a form so that you can follow-up with them later.

As you can see, website optimization is composed of several elements. The main thing is to make certain that while you are creating a website, you are optimizing it at the exact same time.
